36

  1. My dad is one of the head bakers at a small college cafeteria in Northeast PA called East Stroudsburg University (ESU). Everyday for the past 3 decades or so, he has gone into work at about 3:30-4:30 am to start prepping for the day.
One morning in the late 80s to early 90s, he went in (he is usually the first one in, and the only one there for an hour and a half or so) and began to turn lights on and walk through the dining room, as he made a habit of to be sure nothing was out of the ordinary, and grab a drink. As he made his way out, he noticed that there was blood literally COVERING all of the lines. The pizza section was covered in blood, the grill section (about 60 yards opposite side of the building) was covered in blood, floors and tables, everywhere had fucking blood covering it. He was puzzled, and went to turn more lights on so that he could investigate.
He dimly lit the dining area, and at the very far corner of the dining room he noticed a guy sitting alone at a blood covered table, holding his head wrapped in a towel. This was unusual, because normally my dad is the only one that should be in the building at that time. My dad figured he could be some sort of college night worker or custodian who found his way in, or a janitor or something to that effect.
My dad called out to the guy "Hey buddy, are you alright? Do you need any help?" No answer from him. He didnt even acknowledge my dad was there. My dad asked again for another minute or so, calling out to this guy, seeing if he needed a hand at all of if he should call an ambulance. The guy did not answer.
My dad figured this was too weird of a situation, so he headed towards the office to call his boss, the police, or whatever. He turned and headed straight to the office, and when he got there, this guy was already there on the phone. This was impossible because the guy would have had to catch up to my dad and PASS him to get to the office first. my dad had like a 40 foot head start on him to the office. He overlooked the fact that what had happened was fucking impossible, and tried to talk to the fuckin' ese again.
He asked the guy if he needed a ride anywhere, or if he needed anything from the medical cabinet or anything like that. The guy completely ignored him and stayed on the phone. My dad went to go step out of the main office and give the fuckin' ese some privacy, and stood right outside the doorway to the office. He went back in 5 minutes later and the guy was gone. The guy would have had to walk past my dad to get out of the office, and he never saw him do that. My dad went outside, no cars in the parking lot. He searched every inch of that giant building and did not see any trace of anyone having been there at all. The blood was all still there, but no guy. There were even bloody towels down in the basement of this place where the washing machine and dryer were.
My dad checked the phone and hit redial, and star 69 or whatever to see past calls - nothing even showed up. He checked all the schedules that could have possibly had someone on shift that night, and not a single person was even working that night at all. My dad shrugged it off, cleaned up all the blood, and went on with his day.
