  1. When I was a first semester freshman in college, I made some friends with people who were interested in the paranormal, so we decided to do some ghost hunting; it was well organized for what it was. We had read about the haunting in this building and looked further into it. The History channel had been there a year prior and had done an investigation too. We went in the mid afternoon (which was by appointment).

About 8 of us were there. We were given a tour by one of the historians of the house and its history, as well as the areas with reported activity (we had cameras and flashlights with us as well). After the tour we were free to explore the house, so we broke up into 2 teams. I went with some people into the basement while the others looked up stairs.

In the basement there was a hall leading to a large open basement room with a few smaller rooms. It was dark accept for a window one of the rooms pouring in light through. There was a chair in front of a boiler in the large room. Their had been a psychic that had some picked up activity in that spot. We thought to have one person take a seat in that chair for about 3-5 minutes at a time while the others went upstairs. I did not experience anything when I sat, but the only girl with us did.

She was sitting in the chair looking straight ahead when she caught a dark figure kneeling beside the chair look up at her. She called us down and it had gone away before we got there.

I decided to take some pictures in the basement. I took the photo above in the room were the window was shining light in. The opening is for pipes to go into the larger room. There was no dust in the air or reflection to cause this photo. There were more of this actually vaporizing and appear to fly into the wall to the right. If you look closely you can see the collar and buttons of his jacket as well as a face. The ghost is that of Samuel Dale, who lived in the house in the mid 1800's.
