  1. This one's about the house next door to me. True story. Sorry it's so long.

When my family moved into our house (I was about 4 or 5 at the time) we had an old husband & wife that lived next door. They had let their two sons live with them as well....one with his wife & the other with his daughter who was a few years older than me. The old man was a priest and he and his wife would always come over and talk to my parents. Well, my parents said that one time the old lady brought up spirits and demons out of the blue and proceeded to tell them about an experience their daughter in law had in that house while their son (her husband) was also studying to become a priest. Apparently their daughter in law heard her husband mumbling in his sleep one night and kept trying to hear what he was saying but couldn't make it out, so she finally decided to try to wake him up. All the lights had been off, so she claims she could only see him a little from the light that was coming through the windows. Anyways, she tries to wake him up by calling his name...but nothing. So she turns over and he's facing away from her so she shakes his arm a bit and calls him. Then....according to the old lady....the daughter in law starts to hear all these weird voices and sees the image of her husband come out of his body a little and flip over towards her. But instead of his face she said it was really demonic and angrily told her to leave him alone. She screamed and it rolled back over and her husband woke up completely confused about what had happened and what was going on. I also remember playing with the daughter at that house when I was younger and anytime anyone walked into the kitchen, cabinets would be open...even if someone had just closed them a few minutes before.

One of the days my dad was in the driveway, and he says that he saw the old lady coming outside and they started talking. She told him she was on her way to eat with some friends, but started joking about haunting him after she died to prove that there is an afterlife (my dad doesn't believe in any of that). My dad shrugs it off and her ride picks her up. A few hours later we get a call from one of her daughters saying she passed away while she was at the restaurant. Things start going downhill for the family and they go their separate ways and move out.

    New family moves in.

It's a lesbian couple with a son. They seem to have their life together, good jobs, everything. Pretty soon they start telling my parents they're having financial problems, blah blah. Nothing strange. But then they up and move out within a few months without saying anything.

House is vacant for a long time. New family moves in.

A cop, his wife and kids. The guy is alwayssss outside doing projects around the house and talking to my dad. He seems pretty happy to have a new house and tells my dad that they plan on staying for a long time, he likes the area, etc etc. Then bam, cop starts acting sketchy. Starts asking if we know anything about the house or the people who lived there before him. My parents tell him they don't know anything and within like 2 months they move out. One day they're there and the next they're gone.

My parents friends move in with their two kids. The dad loses his job within the first month and then gets arrested for some crime he didn't commit and ends up in jail for a long time. The mom can hardly afford to stay. The son claims to see things. They lose the house.

Single mom with two daughters. The mom talks to my parents a lot and pretty soon starts telling my parents that her daughters are acting really different. Having extreme anger problems, running away, doing bad in school, etc. Claims they never used to be like this. Mom says she gets an unsafe feeling when she's alone, but can't explain it. They move out not soon after.

An old couple moves in. The husband worked doing some driving job and the wife stayed home. After a few months, the husband started telling my dad that his health was getting really bad after they moved in. He started having really bad complications with his diabetes and actually had to have his right foot amputated....which meant he couldn't work (since he was a driver). After that he was bed-ridden on one of those hospital beds in their house for a long time. His wife came over during this time and started asking questions about the house and doing that whole routine the cop before them had done. My parents were really curious now so they asked her why she wanted to know. She says that she had been asleep one of the nights and woke up because her dog started barking and when she looked up there was a dark shadowy man standing in the doorway looking at her and her dog was going crazy looking in the direction of the figure. She got up and the figure started to walk backwards into the hall and then the living room just looking at her. She followed it with the dog barking the whole time and then when it got to the middle of the living room it disappeared. She said that later on, one of their friends was visiting and started feeling sick and asked if they knew they had something in their house. The wife kinda freaked out cause she didn't tell this lady anything, but then the lady started describing the man type figure the wife had seen. Eventually they couldn't pay for the house and the husband's medical bills with him out of work, so they left.

Young couple and their son. Both have good jobs, new cars, blah blah. The son suddenly gets an imaginary friend the moment they move in. The mom claims she keeps finding food hidden all over his room and when she asks him why it's there he says it's for the man. She asks him what he's talking about and he tells her a man talks to him all the time. She gets kinda weirded out, but doesn't really think anything. Awhile after moving in, the little boy just stopped talking. We'd see him outside playing and talk to him, but it was like he suddenly reverted back to baby talk or else he'd just look at you and not say anything. The mom tells us that she would wake up in the middle of the night to get water and every cabinet in the kitchen would be open so she'd close them and start to walk out and when she got to the doorway they would be open again, but they would never open if she kept her eye on them. As time went on, the son starts throwing crazy tantrums, starts cussing, getting violent...and he still has the imaginary friend. During the last few months they stayed, I think they said something went wrong with the husband's truck (not sure exactly) but he ended up wrecking it while him and the little boy were driving somewhere, they flipped a few times and the husband had to go to the hospital. She said that her husband told her their son was laughing from the minute he lost control until the ambulance came. (No joke) But yeah, they moved out too.

The house was vacant for the last two years, but now another young couple moved in with a few kids earlier this year. Haven't heard anything yet, but we don't really talk to them either.

*Edit: I asked my parents about this real quick, they reminded me that the old couples friend who gave a description of the man also claimed to be psychic and said there is a man buried underneath the house from when this area used to be nothing but orange groves and he's the one doing everything. I don't have any proof of this though.
